I am an ideator. i am passionate about film, art, design, nature, music, architecture, philosophy, fonts, treehouses and animals. except possums. i don’t care for them. i have many heroes that inspire me and my process. jane goodall to name one. she probably loveD possums.

i have worked in a variety of mediums. feature films, telly, Brands, adverts and documentary. some of my filmmaking can be seen right here on this site. how convenient.

Mark Palansky is an internationally recognized writer and director celebrated for his dynamic and evocative visual style across feature films, television, and high-profile commercial campaigns.

Palansky launched his feature career with the critically acclaimed modern fantasy Penelope. This film immediately showcased his unique visual sensibility and starred an all-star ensemble cast including Christina Ricci, James McAvoy, Reese Witherspoon, and Catherine O’Hara. He followed this success with the sci-fi drama Rememory, starring Peter Dinklage, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival before being acquired and released by Lionsgate and Google.

Beyond features, Palansky has brought his distinct directorial vision to television, notably directing episodes of the Emmy-nominated Netflix hit Lemony Snicket: A Series of Unfortunate Events, starring Neil Patrick Harris. His commercial portfolio is extensive, including memorable campaigns for major brands such as Fiat and Target.

Known for his ability to push boundaries and seamlessly navigate various genres, Palansky has recently collaborated with world-renowned artists like Mark Ryden, Thomas Dambo, and Mario the Maker Magician. His work spans major studios and networks, including Warner Bros., Paramount, New Line, MGM, Lionsgate, and Comedy Central. Palansky is currently developing several new projects across feature film, television, and bespoke branding -  continuing to shape the next era of visual storytelling.
